CBD Isolate vs Full Spectrum?

So you might be wondering, what is the difference between “CBD Isolate” vs “Full Spectrum CBD”?

CBD-isolate is a product that has equal to or greater than 99% of CBD with nearly no other cannabis components.

Full-Spectrum is a product with CBD extract that is CBD-rich but still has some or very little THC content less than 0.03% which became federally legal in 2018.

 

Before 2015 it was commonly believed that CBD in its isolated form is more potent and concentrated than full spectrum CBD. However, in 2015, a study from the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem debunked that theory. In the examination, researchers administered ‘Full Spectrum CBD’ and ‘CBD Isolate’ to two different controlled groups of mice.

When comparing the results, the data proved that the group receiving full spectrum CBD was provided with higher levels of relief. Moreover, the study demonstrated that full spectrum CBD continued to provide relief as the dose increased, while CBD Isolate did not provide the same effect when there was an increase in dosage.

Although full-spectrum CBD has proven to be more effective than CBD Isolate, it does not discredit the effectiveness of CBD Isolate. There are many situations when CBD isolate would be selected over Full Spectrum CBD. For instance, if you aren’t legally allowed to use THC(random drug tests) or you may not necessarily need the full capabilities of full-spectrum CBD.

Why Are People Turning to CBD?

Prescription or over-the-counter pain medications are often recommended in the treatment of chronic pain, but often people seek out alternative forms or more natural forms of pain relief like herbs, nutritional supplements, and products like CBD oil.
Often times these people are avoiding the common side effects associated with standard pain medication, others have concerns about becoming dependent on said medications. Some research suggests that CBD oil could provide a solution to opioid addiction; a commonly known side effect of prescription pain-killers.

THC, the most plentiful psychoactive cannabinoid, has proven to be an extremely effective pain reliever and is also helpful in the treatment of the depression that can often follow chronic pain conditions like neuropathy.

CBD is non-psychoactive; & relieves inflammation and pain naturally. Research has associated the inflammation-reducing characteristics of CBD, and it’s the capability to eliminate excessive immune-related oxidative stress allowing the body to better heal itself, to significant symptom reduction in neuropathy patients.
